Farrukhabad: Dr. Ankur Lather has appealed to residents of Farrukhabad to actively participate in the ongoing Census 2027 process and ensure that all information submitted is accurate and factual.
The District Magistrate said the self-enumeration phase of Census 2027 has officially begun in Uttar Pradesh from May 7, allowing citizens to voluntarily submit their household details online until May 21 through the designated census portal.
To encourage public participation, Dr. Ankur Lather personally took part in the self-enumeration process and urged people to contribute to what he described as an important national exercise.
He clarified that online self-enumeration is optional and that citizens who are unable to complete the process digitally will be covered through traditional door-to-door data collection beginning May 22, when census officials will visit households across the district.
According to district officials, residents can complete the online process using mobile phones or laptops by accessing the official census portal, selecting their state and entering the required captcha code. During family registration, the head of the household must provide details such as name, mobile number and, if available, an email address.
Authorities stated that one mobile number can be linked to only one family account and the name of the family head cannot be changed after registration. Following OTP verification, users will be required to select their preferred language and provide details including district, PIN code, village or city name, and the precise location of their residence on a digital map.
Citizens will also need to enter information related to the house structure and family composition before submitting the final form. Officials advised residents to carefully verify every detail prior to submission, as no corrections will be allowed afterward.

Once the process is completed successfully, families will receive an 11-digit self-enumeration identification number beginning with the letter “H.” This number must be preserved and shown to census officials during subsequent household visits.
The administration said the Census 2027 form will contain 34 questions covering a wide range of demographic and household-related information. These include details about housing conditions, construction materials, number of family members, gender and social category of the household head, access to drinking water, electricity, toilets, kitchens, LPG or PNG gas connections, mobile phones, internet facilities, televisions, computers and vehicles.
For the first time, the census will also seek information regarding the primary grain consumed by families.
Dr. Ankur Lather emphasised that participation in the census is legally mandatory and warned that refusing to provide information or deliberately submitting false data could invite legal action. Officials said the law provides for penalties including imprisonment of up to three years and fines of up to ₹1,000 for violations.
The district administration has urged residents to cooperate fully with census workers to ensure smooth and accurate data collection for one of the country’s largest administrative exercises.
